Every now and then, we are asked to apply our creative skills to projects for the wee ones!
For this project, we were challenged to provide a welcoming and functional waiting area in Tayside Children's Hospital at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee – a place that needed a bit of colour and fun to keep young ones playing and smiling while they waited with families and carers.

Inspired by the city's famous Beano comics – particularly star character Dennis the Menace – our design was filled with colour and fun. Working closely with NHS Tayside, we got to work transforming this tired waiting area into a place of playfulness and delight – with bright bench seating for adults, funky tables where kids can play and, of course, graphics on the walls/flooring featuring our favourite Beano troublemaker...
The waiting room at Tayside Children's Hospital is now a bright and functional space that gives both parents and kids an inviting area to wait for appointments. Remodelling the user journey by creating a colourful and fun interior makes it ideal for playing, relaxing and interacting. It was a pleasure working with NHS Tayside on this little project designed to brighten days and spark imagination.
