Crown Cottage, Aberdeen

The prospect of developing new or refurbished luxury properties within a busy city centre can be a daunting one — but it can be achieved, and in some style too.

Located in the heart of Aberdeen city centre, City Restoration Project's Crown & Cottage development aimed to combine the very best elements of city and country living styles — delivering luxury living in the city.

This project also made clever use of the latest planning policy in the city — designed to help reinvigorate the often-redundant buildings on back lanes around the traditional centre of Aberdeen.

TINTO worked closely with City Restoration Project on this forward-thinking restoration development, including its showpiece 'The Cottage' property — a B-listed, two bedroom detached home with a private roof terrace, refurbished and finished to a very high standard.

With a historic granite house at its heart, this new vision of city centre luxury living has retained elements of that classic Aberdonian style, blending it with standing seam zinc and larch timber cladding to create a bespoke, modern feel.

Contemporary features like angled gable end windows only add to the style and abundance of natural light throughout the property.

This is a home that, like the rest of the development, prioritises quality and the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, even in a built-up residential area.

This is luxury living in the city — restoring the old and creating a new future for this corner of Aberdeen.
